In The Word’s of Destiny’s Child… ‘QUESTION’
Here you’ll find the answers to the most common questions about our DJ services. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch!
Do You Provide Lights?
Yes, my all-in-one lighting rig creates a fantastic atmosphere for the dance floor with moving, coloured lights and effects. If you or any of your guests suffer from photo-sensitivity or epilepsy, please let me know in advance.
What Equipment Will You Be Bringing?
I provide everything needed for a great party, including all the sound, lighting, and music equipment. I DJ off a Pioneer DJ Controller, which I will be bringing with me, as well as a DJ Booth, which means apart from a power supply, nothing will need to be provided by the venue.
How Long Does Setting Up Take?
I typically arrive about 30 Minutes before the event’s start time to set up and complete a sound check. For venues I’m not familiar with, I’ll often arrive a little earlier to introduce myself and ensure I have plenty of time to find the best layout for my equipment.
For full-day wedding packages or evening events where you’d like an earlier setup, I can be there in advance and return later. If this would benefit your party, please let me know in advance.
Do You Have Insurance & PAT Tested Equipment?
Yes to both. I have Public Liability Insurance (PLI) up to £10,000,000, which covers you and your guests in the unlikely event of an accident or injury. I can provide the necessary certification to your venue or event coordinator upon request.
Additionally, all of my electrical equipment is regularly tested for safety. I have Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) certification for all my gear and can provide documentation to your venue or event coordinator upon request.
What Sort Of DJ Are You?
My career started in clubs and bars, I’m an open-format DJ who specialises in mixing and blending tracks. I don’t just stand there pressing play—I read the room and seamlessly move through genres all night, from RnB Hits and Dance Anthems to Party Classics. My goal is to make sure there’s always something in my set for everyone, keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed.
Are You A Classic Wedding DJ?
We’ve all been to those weddings where the DJ was… less than thrilling. Sat in a dark corner, mumbling into his microphone and playing the same songs we hear at every wedding. Thankfully, I am not that DJ.
While I appreciate that a great party playlist is diverse and might include the odd cheesy classic at just the right moment, my sets are designed to be fresh and dynamic. If you’re looking for your Disco Dave who plays YMCA and the Macarena all night, I’m probably not the right fit. However if you’re looking for a night full of energy, great mixing, and a wide range of music, you’re in the right place.
Can Guests Request Songs?
Absolutely! It’s only normal for people at parties to request their favourite songs. Don’t worry about bad requests ruining the atmosphere though, I’ll speak to you before hand to make sure the do’s and dont’s have been outlined!
Do You Use A Microphone?
Yes! I’m more than happy to use the Mic! Don’t worry though, I’m not a cheesy DJ/ Bingo caller that likes the sound of his own voice more than the music he’s playing, Mine will be more for announcing key moments like speeches and first dance / cake cutting at weddings and more importantly when the buffet is open.
Can We Book You If We Also Have A Band?
Yes! I’ve played plenty of events where I’ve filled in between band performances and then finished the night off with a DJ set. I also love DJing with live sax players and percussionists so just let me know on your booking form!
